The bottom line and bad management ruined the airlines. 1978 the year that ruined american carriers
Buy this video, very worth it.
Dude you made my old willie hard just thinking about that.I may have a hard attack. Thanks for bringing it up.
yeah,, well I am a pig I guess.. but I would love to see the old flight attendany uniforms come back… hell, I would like an old flight attendant!
I could not agree with you more on how nice it used to be. I have been flying as a passenger since 1959. The old days are gone. Today, if it ain’t Boeing I ain’t going and if South West does’nt got there I don’t go there. Period!
I’m only 15, but I truly wish I had been alive to experience this era
All airlines, be it the global carriers like Pan American and BOAC, or the small “commuter” airlines like Mohawk and Allegheny, offered exceptional, classy and above all, dignified, flying experiences!
I was definitely born way too late! Women were still real ladys, men real gentlemen, airplane real airplanes, … *sniff sniff* :./
Moosehead , you took the words right out of my mouth. If there are changes, why can’t they be for the better? The great unwashed now set the standards.
Boy I thought Merle Oberon was a doll… I actually saw a woman in a dress and heels today, unless you go downtown…you just don’t see it any more.
I remember when you dressed up just to go to the airport…
Ah well. Times DO change, you know.
Men wore coats and ties, women wore hats and gloves, it was a luxury to travel. SouthWest Airlines turned it into Greyhound bus service, and the rest is history. Pull on your cutoffs and flip-flops and go. I spent 30 years in the cockpit, it’s all gone now.
Does make one wonder what happened to civilized society.
Did I just see normal human beings seated in the passenger compartment? Not the raving lunatics that are out there today. Why did they ever shut down the mental hospitals? The worse mistake they ever made.
