United Airlines Flight Turbulence – Pilot Was A Pro!

Author: admin | Files under Air Deals Video

landed smoothly. I guess that’s why he makes the big bucks, or I hope he does. I wonder to this day if we could have waited another few minutes and gotten around those clouds. As I exited the plane, the pilot had just emerged from the cockpit; I said nice landing. Thanks. He tipped his hat and breathed a sigh of what had to be relief. It could be the PTU, but is keeps the hydraulic systems on the same pressure by using a hydraulic pomp. It dous not keep the trust levels equal.

I agree…..Hydraulic noise for sure…..seems to only happen on Airbuses, hence the name “Scarebuses”

that whining noise you heard was probably the PTU, or power transfer unit, which is a standard feature on most airbus aircraft. It keeps the thrust in between both engines equal.
just my 2 cents on the whining noise

Well, I haven’t flown in any regional aircraft to destinations in the mountains, but I’ve never experienced anything as bad as that turbulence taking off from KLAS. You can get some turbulence if you are heading eastbound from DIA, until you are far enough east of the mountains. Usually it isn’t bad, though. Even what I experienced out of KLAS doesn’t count as severe turbluence-there were no bags falling out or oxygen masks coming down.

This turbulence is nothing compared to the turbulence at takeoff from KRDU to KLGW. It practically felt like you were on a jetski out in the ocean.

The worst turbulence I’ve ever experienced was from LAS to DEN in clear weather. It was on a United 737-300. It July in Vegas, so maybe it was convection or thermals, I don’t know.

Should have had one of those kids hold your hand, that was nothing, should see it when the wings flex about 3ft, which is normal, but an odd site!!!

I’ve flown into Hartsfield from PVD a zillion times. No turbulence, always got there ahead of schedule.

Worst flight ever was PVD to DFW. Bumpy as all hell.
