The Vision of nextgen This video, produced by the Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO), shows what future air travel might look like. nextgen, or, the Next Generation Air Transportation System. NASA and its fellow members of the Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO) are creating nextgen by the year 2025 (”MMXXV”) to manage increasing air traffic safely and efficiently while reducing its impact on the environment. This JPDO video shows a future aircraft with its wings blended into its body moving cleanly through the sky. It also shows future options for directing air traffic into and out of airports that are more customized to aircraft trajectories.

Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
That’s a sweet plane they got there…

Buy 2025 Virgin Galatic will maybe have Spaceshipthree. Making planes irrelevance. Obital space travel..Out of the atmosphere and back again ! London, UK to Sydney, Australia in 2 hours !
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
calm down without the nasa we would no nothing about space
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
Nope.
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
Who cares, it goes fast. And I wanna blame NASA for not letting me fly Concorde. I bet your sorry ass works for NASA.
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
NASA has nothing to do with the Concorde..it wasn’t even developed in this country….and it’s 40-50 year old tech…
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
So this technology isn’t going to be used by our military??? Oh wait…it already is.
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
Or you could just bring the concord back you sons of bitches.
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
I want the flying cars they promised us 50 years ago!
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
N.A.S.A. Not another stupid agency.
Come on guys grow some balls. You’re leading yourselves into irrelevancy.
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
And in 2025 no one will remember this illusion…
By the way, where are the windows?
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
*cough* Yeeaaah no sorry never going to happen, be real Nasa, you guys can’t afford to get to space that your going to piggy back on giant corp’s to help you out to put your satellites into space using their own ships
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
First class gets windows? Coach an aluminum/carbon fiber cave? Check the departure path from the runway…that’s some G’s you’ll be pulling to make that corner! I’ll stick with today’s mess if the future is windowless, face contortion air travel.
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
This video proved absolutely nothing… What the hell… now I’m mad.
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
can we have crash-proof pls
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
whoa…amazing
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
What an incredibly pretentious and worthless video. The way it lingers on “MMXXV” (Ooh! Roman numerals!), through the blather imposed against a spinning globe long enough for even the slowest reader to get, and finally, after over a minute, the actual meat: future air travel may come with “intelligent weather solutions”. Wow. That’s the best they can lead with? But wait! There’s more. See next comment.
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
It’ll be quieter and more fuel efficient? Who woulda thunk? Net-centric operations? Um, like everything else that’s moving to the cloud? I can’t figure out who this is supposed to inform or impress, because it’s neither informative nor impressive.
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:07
Wow cool another propaganda film about things we pay to develope and Boeing sells back to us.Wow cool! Go military industrial complex!
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:08
Damn it!
Your taking the Words of my Lips
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:08
Go Nasa! Go nasa! Woho!
Feb 9, 2010 at 07:23:08
