Author: admin | Files under Air Deals Video

The Vision of nextgen This video, produced by the Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO), shows what future air travel might look like. nextgen, or, the Next Generation Air Transportation System. NASA and its fellow members of the Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO) are creating nextgen by the year 2025 (”MMXXV”) to manage increasing air traffic safely and efficiently while reducing its impact on the environment. This JPDO video shows a future aircraft with its wings blended into its body moving cleanly through the sky. It also shows future options for directing air traffic into and out of airports that are more customized to aircraft trajectories.

NASA has nothing to do with the Concorde..it wasn’t even developed in this country….and it’s 40-50 year old tech…

First class gets windows? Coach an aluminum/carbon fiber cave? Check the departure path from the runway…that’s some G’s you’ll be pulling to make that corner! I’ll stick with today’s mess if the future is windowless, face contortion air travel.

What an incredibly pretentious and worthless video. The way it lingers on “MMXXV” (Ooh! Roman numerals!), through the blather imposed against a spinning globe long enough for even the slowest reader to get, and finally, after over a minute, the actual meat: future air travel may come with “intelligent weather solutions”. Wow. That’s the best they can lead with? But wait! There’s more. See next comment.

It’ll be quieter and more fuel efficient? Who woulda thunk? Net-centric operations? Um, like everything else that’s moving to the cloud? I can’t figure out who this is supposed to inform or impress, because it’s neither informative nor impressive.
