I recently took a short flight, and captured the moment of take off as well as taking several pictures of the beautiful view in flight. It was quite nice as we rose up over the clouds from the rainy windy weather at ground level to the clear sunset on the horizon. Turbulents on the way up generated much laughter for children on the plane who were shouting with excitement every time the plane jumped. I have to admit to enjoying the turbulents myself also. I have a personal tradition that every time a plane I am on takes off, I play Postal Service’s ‘Recycled Air’ to myself on my MP3 Player. So with a combination of this tradition and the footage I captured, I present to you a short video and montage of that flight. As mentioned above the music is Postal Service – Recycled Air.

@ProfesserPlum Gibbard started DCFC before Postal Service, they’ve been goin since the 90s

Ben Gibbard > Adam Young. Ben Gibbard essentially created Indie electronica. Ben had a small EP and a CD as the Postal Service, then moved on to DCFC because he perfected Electronic Indie.

You did a good job at catching the mood of this song with this video, it’s very good!
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
@Danny15LL they each have their own… you may be right.

I like how every video I’ve watched with a postal service song, all the comments are about “Owl City ripped off Postal Service” or “Owl City is Better”or vice versa.
People just need to focus on the band they’re listening to and the video you’re watching.
Which this ones really cool btw. Thanks for posting =]
I love Postal Service<3

Owl City essentially ripped off The Postal Service. Owl City is ok, but why bother when you can have The Postal Service.
More to the point, thanks for the video – it and the song are beautiful.
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
Agreed, I have to say, don’t like owl City much.
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
Let’s clear this up owl city and the postal service are nothing alike because the postal service has a different classyer sound then owl city…. The postal service for me relates better to my life so I like them better
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
fucking no. NOOB. postal servvice is wayyyyyyyy better than owl city.
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
I liked one owl city song before he got really famous. he started to sound bad to me after that. this is perfect.
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
this isnt my name but ill talk on it, postal service isnt a band it is a project the band did…dig a little deeper kids.
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
F@#$ owl city postal service FTW!
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
Owl City is Death Cab for Dummies. The fag totally stole Gibbard’s lyrics.
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
Leave him alone it was just an opinion. It’s not like he made fun of the song, he was only trying to tell me the similarities of owl city and this song. Geez people take stuff real literally
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
Thanks for sharing @danny15ll
FFS! this is what i get for making a friendly suggestion/observation.
YES, OWL city is way better and different than Postal Service. Ok? Fucking hell…
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
@someonefromsometime: FAIL owl city is too popular and everyone knows it.
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
every time i fly i listen to this song too! postal service ftw.
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
You needn’t steal, feel free to have it
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
I and many other people disagreed with your opinion, but you deffinitely didn’t deserve a thumbs down, or 5 for that matter. Most of the people on youtube are probably very ignorant, unopen people.
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
how on earth did i get 5 thumbs down for an opinion? it’s not like i insulted something…
anyway, yea i suppose you’re right Waffles… but when i first heard them I was reminded of postal service. now a month later i agree that the sounds are quite different…
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
Owl City is not similar whatsoever.
These are too completely different bands.
Different sounds.
Different lyrics.
And unlike Owl City, The Postal Service has some depth too it.
Now don’t get me wrong, i love Owl City.
But you can’t compare them to the Postal Service. They’re way too different. Just because two bands have an electronic sound doesn’t mean they’re similar.
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
Am I getting thumbs down because people don’t like me to be against plane crashes? Or are these the same people that believe laws and rules don’t apply to them because they think they are special despite giving nothing to society (the ones that shoot cops while wearing hoodies to avoid traffic tickets)?
May 9, 2010 at 12:11:39
@M0DEAN Oh my gosh, calm down, just enjoy Ben Gibbard
