EU Ministers are due to hold emergency talks on the air travel chaos caused by plumes of ash from a volcano in Iceland. The crisis is entering its fifth day with airspace remaining closed in over twenty countries. Desperate airlines are putting pressure on EU leaders to lift the flight ban, saying it’s already cost them over a billion euros. Some companies have undertaken test flights into European air space to prove its safety. Experts have branded the safety measures ‘unnecessary’ and described the situation as ‘air hysteria’.

So will Al Gore ask the UN, to tax Iceland, for the CO2 emissions from this ?
@MissWeiLun Laki, Iceland, 1783 eruption:
- 120 million tonnes of sulphur dioxide
- Quarter of Iceland’s population died from gases and starvation
- Earth’s temperature cooled by 0.3 degrees C (sulphuric acid aerosols and reflective clouds)
- Mississippi River froze at Gulf of Mexico
