Is flying stand by generally cheaper than negotiating a price from Priceline Negotiator? I have never flow standby before so have no experience with that.

Many airports are set up this way now, unfortunately not all people are queued up because they choose to be. My last flight they changed some minor detail that forced me to check-in at the counter… luckily there weren’t many people in front of me, but still, it’s not always what it seems.
The only time I see standby outside of Southwest Airlines is when a bunch of flights get cancelled due to weather and a ton of people try to book themselves on the next flight.
fridays are hard to non rev. and i workf for swa. saturdays used to be easy, but now with all the cuts its almost impossible.
I used to be a flight attendant up until August 2008 and let me tell you that standby pretty much doesn’t exist anymore unless it is with Southwest Airlines. I worked for United Airlines and since they have cut their routes back so much, it is almost impossible to fly out on standby. However, if you do dare to fly standby, I would recommend getting at the airport for the very first flight of the day. That’s what I had to do since as an employee, we had to fly standby also.
i’m not sure! i think friday and saturday are the busiest days, and the best day to fly STBY is wednesday
This is AWESOME!! thanks for posting!
I’ve had some REALLY bad experiences flying standby but it won’t deter me now!
Friday’s open because all the flights cost twice as much. In Canada we have a self check-in where you swipe your credit card, drop off your luggage and are through in under a minute. I always laugh and point to those in the line ups
