Went joyriding in one today with my instructor! A lot different with a stick instead of a yoke!

I fly the 118hp 7ECA and I have no problem with immelman’s, the aircraft is capable of full cuban’s also. It’s all about energy managment. Go out and try it again!

Good on you two’s. I say to evrey pilot who has not fly taildraggers to go and take the challenge know the old fashion way of flying.

It’s minus 3G’s I am a flight instructor and I teach on these aircraft. I think they are the best aircraft for a person to do their flight training. Yes even better than a Cessna. Reason I say this is because of the aerobatic capabilities the aircraft has and the fact it’s a tail aircraft which teaches students and helps and challenges them with taxiing, takeoff, and landings. I think personally they are a great aircraft. I am not Cessnas are not good. They are good aircraft for naves.

Citabria can do plus 5 G’s and super decathlon which is a beefed up version of a citabria with larger 180 hp engine can do 6 G. Negative i think is around 2 im not 100 percent positive. And trust me if u can find one they are amazing to fly and cheap to maintain and operate.

Beautiful aircraft!! How many plus and minus G’s can she stand? I’d love to take one out for a fly!! :)

it was more of to illustrate the fact that my pilot friends had tried talking me into it unsuccessfully, and after seeing the video once I was like, dang that looks awesome. i guess its the picture’s worth a thousand words saying. Acro’s great stuff, although if you want to do an Immelman do it in the Decathalon. Our 150hp Citabria didn’t have quite enough punch to complete the maneuver.

Not sad. I made this video and also been flying only tricycles, kept hearing how much fun taildraggers were. Got my checkout in the citabria about a month ago and also starting acrobatics this month. Can’t wait. Such a responsive airplane, makes you realize the pedals aren’t just foot rests!

glad to hear you liked the video

  12. doomndespair1 says:

this might seem sad, but this video motivated me to take taildragger training after having flown tricycles for 3 years. Been flying the Citabria for a little over a month and have fallen in love with aviation all over again. Will start Acro this weekend! Thanks so much for posting this vid!
