@marcomariaz26 your a fucking idiot guydabest takes it
@marcomariaz26 remember, Oxygen is flamable, since its a situation with fire onboard the plane, you’re not suppose to drop the oxygen masks.
yea, in fact my friend’s uncle was on the salvage crew during this investigation… He always told us about how painstaking it was
they have improved these planes, by setting up fire extinguishing systems and fire proof lining in the cargo hold.
only if the oxygen was in the air directly. with the masks on, the passengers are breathing it, so that’s not that big an issue.
Being awake and not passed out is better for flying a plane. They screwed up, and it cost everyone their lives. Tragic.
hey no oxygen mask in the plane =.=
Wikipedia or something. I don’t have a source, it’s just common thoughts etc.
I am not disagreeing, but I would love a link to your source on that information.
they needed oxygen because they were breathing smoke, which doesn’t exactly benefit you when you breath. But yeah, the pilots refused because it would have given the fire fuel.
Yeah, they are still in use but not as much. And their safety records are still worse than any plane in the air.
They are still around and in common use. Fedex uses DC-10s / MD-11s extensively. Northwest uses DC-9s. American uses MD-80s. The Boeing 717 is a renamed MD-90.
They are also not death traps. When the cargo catches on fire and there are a bunch of oxygen containers in the cargo hold, that’s bad for any plane.
im glad i wasn’t around to fly on the MD/DC death traps
1972, Eastern 401 crashed in the Everglades killing 101 passengers
So tragic. What made it so bad for rescuers is that the Everglades are literally full of alligators and venemous snakes. Even experienced hunters and explorers in the “Glades” receive nasty bites and injuries from the resident carnivores.
maybe because oxygen aids fire. its pretty stupid
no during a fire you can’t wher oxygen mask for safty. I don’t know why but you have to research
Couldn’t the pilots wear some oxygen mask that they have..
That’s probably one of the worst places in the world for a plane to go down, search & rescue wise. I applaud the ppl whose job it was to do this.
their was no need for cabin pressure at that alltitude, if they were higher in the sky it would of benefit them, cause it would of been less oxygen in the ambient air. FIRE needs Fuel.
dump the cabin pressure if you have smoke
Passing out…. that’s a slow and painful death. like being in a fire.
i agree with you there
I will pay $100 more not to die.
airlines are not cheap, they cost hundreds of millions of dollars
at least the passed out before they crashed
