CNN/YouTube Climate Debate: Full Version

SEAN: Howdy, YouTube. Howdy, world. My name is Sean. I’m 29 years old. Everything that I’ve seen so far with your treaty deals more on the level of the ordinary person and what they have to do to stop Global Warming. And my question to you is why has it never been the giant corporations, who put these chemicals into the atmosphere, who pollute the lakes and pollute the rivers and the air, and from what we can even tell with global warming, especially since all these emails just got exposed. …

i dont know how people can say global warming doesnt excist. wat about the kyoto protocol? pretty much the whole world, including third world countries, have sighnedit???their whole objective is to stabilize the climate..think about it pple…no one has ever made such a fuss over a “hoax”

  2. foxycat90210 says:

its not the CO2 itselfe really…its the amounts being emitted…too much of anything is bad

  3. henik9 says:

None of these so called ‘experts’ are experts in anything. Bring in some scientists instead of liberal actors/writers and I’ll consider taking what I hear seriously. BIASEDDD

  4. standforchange08 says:

Why was African history ommitted in school. It is the cradle of civilization. The ancient Egyptians, not the Arabs, were spiritually in tune with the universe. This bible is very strange and hard to understand if interpreted as a story of real life events, but it all makes perfect sense when understood as an astronomical allegory.

  5. dellbalboa says:

Another one sided debate, Full of fucking shills with personal gains, Fuck your agenda and fuck your lies.
CO2 is suddenly not natural? how do plants survive? can you believe this nonsense, no CO2 has nothing to do with climate change you fucking tools. there is no correlation what so ever, can we get some real ” scientists” in here? no of course you wont, you’ll get the same shills and bureaucrats to do your dirty bidding. And dont fucking call us deniers, you’re the fucking deniers of truth

  6. MrMatchbook says:

just another one sided “debate” to push an agenda. Most people will wake up eventually and say dame were stupid.

  7. Stalemate86 says:

Typical CNN bias. “Climate experts”!? I hardly consider a secretary, an actress, an author or even a political scientist experts on climate change!

    Get real scientists!

Also labelling Lomborg the ‘resident skeptic’ is misleading…. he still believes global warming is man-made.

CNN this is not a debate…. this is a “systematic manipulation of psychological and social influence” ie media brainwashing.

  8. rosencrown says:

“global warming is real (it can either cool or warm, but it has been cooling for the last decade), it’s man made(nope), it is a problem (nope it was much warmer in medeival times and there were polar bears back then, but if global warming is ever a problem there isnt much we can do about it because we did not cause it) we need to make policys which don’t turn the consumer off from costs, yadada not answering the statement made by felix.

  9. rosencrown says:

thats a nice poem but c02 emissions hardly account for climate change, 115 on the way to copenhagen but, less then 20 signed on, am i right? Guess it wasn’t such a consensus huh.

  10. lowanfast says:

Well, there’s quite a lot of reforestation to do. I fly over quite a large area of country, and there are a lot (and I mean a lot!) of areas that have simply been clearcut without any sign of reforestation.
Frankly, reporting what emissions have been associated with the wetland loss doesn’t DO anything. It just says “Hey, here’s what we’ve done to the land” and then move on.

  11. NuyBard says:

Would have been nice to have had some climatologists on the panel.

  12. ChristiansofAsia says:

Not all scientists agree in Global Warming . One such organization is ICSC (international Climate Science Coalition). But the mainstream media is only interested in highlighting the views of scientists and politicians who are sympathetic to the views of IPCC. Why?

  13. ReDDDgo says:

Poisoning of ecology with application of the nuclear weapon, application DU in shells, the chemical, bacteriological weapon… 20 centuries has been filled by it. The lecturer has told about it?

  14. qwuad61 says:

What do you call stable as far as climate is concerned?

  15. assasinatedinwow says:

Fuck the human race we should all die we are not any good to the planet

  16. pbadiou says:

In fact there is a big push to enhance biological sequestration using reforestation, wetland restoration and wetland preservation. Also, industries are going to need to account for the emissions associated with landuse change. So for example if you are an industry that is draining peatlands in order to access a certain resource you will need to report that emissions associated with peatland loss.

  17. pbadiou says:

I am not going to list the number of references that show the increased rate of change, but I am guessing you can’t show me one that shows that the current rate of change is similar to historical natural changes. There are numerous other studies that found the exact same relationship that Mann did using different proxies………so in short you are full of shit.

By the way, many people are listening and narrow minded people like you will soon be wondering why they waited so long to act.

  18. MuroKhan says:

Here’s my debate…. CNN STAY OFF YOUTUBE!

  19. globalgovernor says:

huckteeper. This debate is like trying to reason with imbeciles or aliens from another planet. I am not a religious zealot but in fact an atheist. Life has been on this planet for 4 billion years. Yes the climate has always changed but there are innumerable negative feedback systems in the ecosystems and biosphere which serve to regulate our climate and keep it stable. We are both altering the climate and severely hampering the biosphere’s ability to respond appropriately. Gaia by Lovelock.

  20. flashrewind says:

maybe this will help. search…….The Decline And Fall Of The Human Race.

  21. moonknight1985 says:

eh if u put ice in water and the ice melts it stays the same does that not prove there no global warming

  22. ryannzgunnz says:

how is this a debate? there is no one there that refutes man made global warming…what a farce!

  23. AcePilot101 says:

Most people realize the earth’s axis has a tilt (which causes summer and winter) but few realize the axis also has a wobble.
That wobble (over a 26,000 year cycle) does change the climate – not human industry (which produces less than 1/10 of the CO2 in our atmosphere).
Skeptics are convinced that “carbon credits” and the nuclear power industry are behind global warming hysteria!

  24. AcePilot101 says:

The atmosphere contains roughly (by volume) 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.038% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases.
Air also contains a variable amount of water vapor, on average around 1%.
    Skeptics can read!

  25. lowanfast says:

@ XwilddaisyX Intriguingly enough, it’s because of money that they don’t want to do anything about “climate change” at all.
