    @gavboy7771
    no, I do not believe this was an accident. I think flight 611 was hit by an unknown aircraft, and caused this tragedy…

  2. imtoosmart4you says:

    I personally have flew with family on China Airlines Boeing 747′s a couple of times and I hope this doesn’t happen to us in our lifetime. There’s no use hiding the truth that they needed to repair the old plane when the result will end 225 lives just because of their lack of effort. Better be safe than sorry…

  3. imtoosmart4you says:

    China Airlines was just too lazy to repair that broken section and just tried to hide it nor did they properly cut out the damaged section and replace it with a bigger piece. Also, the pilot should have had enough training as to safely take off and land the plane without and part of the plane scratching against the runway. If they chose to not repair the damaged section due to money, they should have at least thought that 225 lives were worth more than perhaps $1,000,000.

    @hotjavabug Do you mean ‘People’s Republic of China’ or ‘Republic of China’ otherwise known as Taiwan , they are two different countries, this aircraft was from Taiwan. ‘Made in China’ means it was made in the ‘People’s Republic of China’ stuff made in Taiwan is refered to as ‘Made in Taiwan’ to avoid confusion. So the ‘Made in China’ comments are irrevlevant. Also it was a Boeing 747 which is made in the USA it was REPAIRED in Taiwan.

  5. jamesross28 says:

    chinese!!!

  6. happyjellyfish says:

    @hotjavabug Ok, we understand that you have beef with China, but did you have to leave the exact same overly-simplistic comment on every single video pertaining to this crash?

  7. MrNeedsdecaf says:

    That Frank guy talks like a robot.

  8. kovu107 says:

    that’s it S.A.D sereve and do wich means server what airline or company and do as they tell you to do and dont just cover over something that isnt suppose to and jst fix it like your suppose to

  9. hotjavabug says:

    Any product that has the ‘Made in China’ logo is very short-lived or duplicate. That is one of the reasons, why chinese products are very cheap in the market compared to their competitors because they compromise on quality.

  10. poida84 says:

    @XxPilotVictorHugoxX cheers mate

  11. XxPilotVictorHugoxX says:

    @poida84 Yeah, I know.
    Here in Brazil, we constantly have commercials witch say: The Health Minister warns you: Smoking may cause various diseases. I just changed some words, to make a stupid joke. I hope I haven’t offended anybody. Thanks!

  12. poida84 says:

    @XxPilotVictorHugoxX amoking did not kill them. it just stained the lower part of tail. which shows that there was a crack in the main frame uder the doubler

  13. MrGhostwhowalks says:

    The poignancy of how an ultrasound that detects new life would have saved many if it had been used on time doesn’t fail to impress. However – tail striking a 747 on landing & not following it through to completion – whether pilot or engineer; no excuse.

  14. edy043 says:

    Poor maintenance kills.

  15. edy043 says:

    @Patrick42395 , I think EVA Air has no crash record…

    re eternalobi:

    Taiwan’s airline is “China Air Lines” for political reasons. Taiwan’s government was the remnants of China’s Nationalists who fled the mainland after the Communist takeover. To this day they consider themselves, not the Communist government in Beijing, as the legitimate government of China. Taiwan’s official name is the Republic of China. At the time of the founding of China Air Lines, mainland airline was Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

  17. bnetolldnataman says:

    I flew China Air in Oct 09 from Brisbane Australia to Los Angeles. 1 of the best flights I,ve ever had, The service was impecable. The aircraft left on time the flight attendents were very friendly,the onboard entertainment was extensive. Taipei airport was well appointed and really clean.. I wouldn,t hesitate to fly China Air again but next time Taiwan will be my destination.

  18. Patrick42395 says:

    Would you rather take EVA AIr or China Airlines?

  19. XxPilotVictorHugoxX says:

    The health minister warns you:
    Smoking in airplanes may cause the death of 225 people.

  20. Java100795 says:

    thats why i fly EVA air

  21. 69xsense says:

    Just to clarify, “Air China” is the flag carrier of China, “China Airlines” is the national airline of Taiwan.

  22. eternalobi says:

    if air china from taiwan? lol they should be could taiwan airlines instead.

  23. InternetKev says:

    Thanks for posting

  24. IN35335 says:

    People might have already realised something was wrong with the plane during maintenance however usually no one will dare to speak up cos they are worried that they may be wrong.

    If you are right you are the hero but what happens if no one believes you?

  25. barichm0 says:

    Although this episode is fantastic, I rated this video as 1 star simply because it is stretched in one dimension (vertically, in this case).

    That is a ridiculous problem, and there is absolutely no excuse for it.

    My new policy is that with any YouTube videos I find, if they are stretched in one dimension, I will rate them as 1 star regardless of how good they otherwise are.

    It looks awful when a video is stretched. It completely destroys the immersion of the video, among other things.
