Super work by the Investigator
that night all the odds were against them,the families of those who died would have gone through hell
that night all the odds were against them,the families of those who died would have gone through hell
Next time Mr.Pilot think more.
My question is, would the pilots have been able to ascend quickly enough if the GPWS had sounded due to the fact that the landing gear was down and the flaps toward 2?
@bigpilot89
One reason why Air Inter crews were so pressurized to keep on time was because France’s TGV trains (which travel at over 200 mph and unlike aircraft can go all the way into city centres) were taking away their customers.
@BDtheHeaven
Funny how when Airbus builds the A380, it is a European company and when there is a problem it mysteriously becomes French!
its sad that there alarm which is there last line of defense did not sound
The guy at 9:00 seems to always make that statement when he’s on the episodes. While it many times applies, you cannot blame the pilots for this accident. They were led wrong by ATC, the GPWS, the bad display controlling the descent (where other pilots were misled), you name it. Senseless, very senseless statement.
All things went wrong that night…RIP
7:04 “The investigators conclude there was no single cause for the crash of flight 148″
-In any accident, with any context, there is always more than one cause that leads up to an accident.
an A320 with no GPWS. how idiotic Airbus and airline industries would do, not having these systems to passengers and pilots to all commercial flights
even frequent fliers would think twice riding another planes
they need to invest in the autopilot to make the damn thing work it could happen to any a320 rite now an there could be a crash every day
It is never one thing. It is always a number of small things that add into one tragedy. What a shame.
@EZgoN2 I understand that nowadays there is some sort of rule where the co-pilot also has equal rights in determining what is right for the flight!!!
Thank goodness for that!
Not having a ground warning system for this futuristic plane, was indeed the smoking gun.
And as far as being on time, no airline should put that kind of pressure on any pilot handling a multi million dollar plane. Thats playing russian roulette with human lives.
If I was the co pilot, I wouldn’t let the captain talk over me. If I saw a discrenpacy I sure as hell would stick to it. Thats the reason there dead, the co pilot was afraid to speak up. So what if the captain writes you up for insubordination, at least you get home to kiss your wifey, hug your kids and kick the dog if the day was really that bad
no copy
this is so sad!!! this really was a case of a series of unfortunate events.
Why France is making sophisticated airplane? Do the France people have enough brain to do it – definitely not…many airbus aeroplane crashed in past years…
@CVKent317 remember their big selling point was being on time, so you can see that they would definitely be under pressure. Also they said that the cabin crew got paid based on how they adhered to the schedule, so imagine having people not liking to work with you because you were “cautious” (aka costing them money.) What a mess….
@fightingtemeraire Bus companies often make mistakes when trying to build airplanes.
What about the justice system blocking the evidence without a order pure stupid!
@yvr6 Its Stupid even in the 70′s when the L 1011 was state of the art it had one so why not a 80′s abirbus
