Air Crash Investigation (ACI) – Air Inter Flight 148 HD Part 1 Crashed And Alone (Invisible Mountain) (Crashed and Missing Air Inter Flight 148 was a scheduled airline flight on January 20, 1992, that crashed in the Vosges Mountains, near Mont Sainte-Odile, while circling to land at Strasbourg Airport. 87 of the 96 onboard were killed.[1] Flight 148 departed Satolas Airport (now known as Saint-Exupéry International Airport) in Lyon, France, at 5:20pm. While being vectored for a VOR DME Approach to Runway 05 at Strasbourg, it crashed in the mountains at a height of only 2600 feet. The pilots had no warning of the imminent impact since the aircraft was not fitted with GPWS. Flight 148 was the third of a series of crashes caused by what was believed to be pilots unfamiliarity with the sophisticated computer system of the Airbus A320. (See Air France Flight 296 and Indian Airlines Flight 605.) It is believed the cause of the crash is that the pilots inadvertently left the autopilot in Vertical Speed mode (instead of Flight Path Angle mode) and then entered “33″ for “3.3° descent angle”–which was actually interpreted as a rate of descent of 3300 feet per minute.

Our Friends
i dont get it pilots get their runway for landing changed ll the time in bad weather wats the difference and why is the captain so freaked out their both fully trained or the situation
i feel sorry for the co-pilot for putting up with the captain.
yay new episodes!
yeah the captain has major anger issues… hes fucked
@FthePo9ers I was thinking the same thing LOL
Well duh
@MCFazZe Hell yeaa.. a egotistical elitist bastard.
seemingly not a very confident pilot…yikes!
@JSD2K8 Season 7 Episode 6; It aired in mid 2010 in the latest season.
@COD04MW it says experienced pilots with 12,000 hours of flight between them, not 12,000 hours each. when it said “total flying hours: 8806″ it was most likely talking about just one of the pilots.
Wait… When they say “…Experienced pilots with 12.000 Hours Of Flight, it highlighted something that says “TOTAL FLYING HOURS: 8806″
all pilots are prepared for different aproaches than the one expected, its seems stupid to make such a big deal out of it, this captain shoudn’t even be a captain after all..
LOL 0:05… what a scream
What season / episode is this?
lol, it’s not HD
@cengkih78 Hello, I feel the same as you do.
4:54 – “yeess!!!!!” =))))))))))) funny captain.
@cengkih78 yeah, same thing happened to me when I was a kid… I’m over it now, and in fact, one you get used to turbulence, it is like a fun roller coaster! : )
why does the captain make such a big deal about the alternate runway?
i always afraid to fly. if pilot made an announcement on coming turbulence ahead, i feel i want to faint. i dont know, i just afraid to fly due to bad experience (bad turbulence experience). hours on the plane for me is like eternity. but i got not choice. sometimes i feel i want to cry and someone to comfort me until the plan safely landed, but i feel embarrassed to ask for that favour, i feel i’m to old for comfort like that.
Pilot! (fatal error)
@MCFazZe What do you expect, he’s a Frenchy.
This Captain is crazy man!
the pilot has anger managment problems
fuckin pilots!!!!!!!!!!
