    @goldenismonica Esentially de-icing fluid is glycol, think of it as antifreeze in your car heated to about 180 degrees F. Glycol is usually good for 30-45 minutes after application. Sometimes we ran out of glycol refilled the truck and had to re do an entire aircraft due to the span of time. Hope this helps a bit…

    It’s not water at all, it’s a chemical that clears the ice and stops it reforming for a certain amount of time. If you wait too long after deicing to take off, you have to deice again.

    @titanic5577 thats always the same thing i thought. i dont think its only water though, or is it even water at all?

    i know someone will evenually have the answer for us.
