@Ladiesman217n That was my initial thought as well. But investigation made it look like that they knew the gear was lowered, but just didn’t know whether it was locked since the green indicator light didn’t come on.

the first rule of flying is to fly the plane first no matter what the issue is. the should have done a fly by on the tower and have tower check the gear but no where dose tower give 401 a go or no go for the nose gear instead the tower tells 401 to change freqs until they fix the prob even though the autopilot can fly the plane the pilot still has to constantly monitor its status im a pilot myself and this rule my flight instructor drilled into my head

its a legitimate a concern though, and even if its not, at least at the time for the people who were there it was a concern they lived through regardless of how unreal or unlikely it is.
