True, but things could have just as easily gone just as bad had they decided to land with only the two rear sets of landing gear working. How were they supposed to know? Bob Loft was a very experienced pilot, and while this situation could have been handled better, he knew better than to make a risky landing with just the other two sets of landing gear. Things could have turned out very differently either way.

Was a distraction, no Auto pilot disengange warning… after this accident all airplanes got this warning… RIP 401 Crew..
These pilots were idiots! Any idiot knows that light bulbs burn out. Had they landed the plane and had the nose gear collapsed, at most there would have been minor injuries. Instead, they got distracted by a non-functioning light bulb and killed lots of people.
I was in a plane crash ones ,,flight 787 India 2 Newport & it was a bad experience,,,thank good my mother woke me up & i didn’t finish th dream,,,,that was back in2002 ,,,,
@cookieluv123ify it wasn’t a ghost that caused 401 to crash u idiot. The plane crashed because they were distracted. Later AFTER THE CRASH 401′s parts were put in other planes and that’s were the ghost sightings were.
I read about this at school!!!!! its in a book AND A GHOST CASUED THE CRASH!

It was caused because the pilot pushed on the controls,And disengaged the autopilot

I heard that that training for CRM didn’t come about until 1980, 8 years too late for the crew of Flight 401.
They train for this kind of stuff. Called CRM (crew resource management) Proper delegation of flight controls is always a priority
